Moza bint Nasser was born into the Al Missned family in Al Khor in 1959. She studied sociology at Qatar University. Her marriage to Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in 1977 connected her with Qatar’s ruling family, and she is the mother of Amir Tamim. The distinction between her birth family and family connection by marriage is retained in this directory rather than silently assigning one dynastic origin to both.
The period as a royal consort
Hamad was Amir from 1995 to 2013, and Moza’s public activities developed during that period. A consort’s position is different from the sovereign office, even when the person is highly visible in national initiatives. Her biography is therefore organized around the institutions she helped establish and chair, rather than suggesting that public influence and the constitutional powers of an amir are the same thing.
Qatar Foundation and Education City
She co-founded Qatar Foundation in 1995 and serves as its chairperson. Education City is a major part of the foundation’s work, bringing educational and research institutions into a shared setting. The project’s significance concerns organizations, students and academic activity, not only royal patronage. Named institutional responsibilities offer a clearer account of her contribution than broad descriptions of prestige or international social status.
Education Above All and other organizations
Her public roles also include chairing Education Above All and Sidra Medicine, according to her official biography. These institutions work in different fields and should not be treated as interchangeable charities. Education initiatives, research and specialist healthcare each involve their own professional teams and governance. Her position identifies an organizational responsibility; it is not a claim that a royal title confers technical expertise in every area supported.
International advocacy and changing appointments
Moza has participated in international education and development forums. Some earlier appointments, including her UNESCO special-envoy role, have ended and are listed as historical rather than current on her official biography. Keeping that distinction matters in a royal directory, where repeated old biographies can otherwise preserve obsolete titles. This profile emphasizes the current foundation roles that were checked for this edition.
Her place in the royal collection
The profile appears under Qatar alongside Tamim’s separate biography. The relationship explains the family connection, while the professions panel explains the public work. The collection does not imply official approval or membership of CYBIOGRAPHY. Its purpose is to make the distinction between a head of state, an heir, a consort and a foundation leader immediately understandable to a reader encountering the family for the first time.
