Family and early education

Hind was born in Doha in 1984, a daughter of Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Moza bint Nasser. She is a sister of Amir Tamim. Her education included Qatar Academy, linking her own schooling with the institutional environment later central to her public work. The family relationship places her in Al Thani without giving her the sovereign role held by her brother.

University study

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University, a master’s in human rights from University College London and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris in Qatar. These are different stages of study rather than interchangeable honorary qualifications. They provide an educational background for work spanning organizational leadership, public policy and the education-and-research ecosystem associated with Qatar Foundation.

Earlier administrative responsibilities

From 2008 to 2013 Hind directed the office of the then amir, Hamad bin Khalifa. She also held responsibilities associated with education institutions and oversight bodies. The period preceded her later chief-executive work at Qatar Foundation. Identifying the dates prevents older government or advisory appointments from being mistakenly presented as additional current offices.

Qatar Foundation leadership

Hind has served as vice chairperson of Qatar Foundation since 2011 and became its chief executive in 2016. The foundation encompasses education, research and community-development organizations. Its programmes involve universities, schools, researchers and administrative teams. A leadership biography should explain this institutional scope without attributing the work of the entire ecosystem to one person alone.

The chief-executive transition of 2025

In May 2025 Qatar Foundation announced Yousif Al-Naama as its next CEO, effective 1 June. Hind continued as vice chairperson with an expanded strategic focus. Some older biographies still describe her as both vice chair and CEO. The current facts panel follows the later official announcement and does not retain the former executive title as though nothing changed.

Relationship to Moza and Tamim

Moza’s profile covers the foundation’s chairperson, Tamim’s covers the amirship and Hind’s covers her own institutional career. The family page connects the three without merging their responsibilities. This makes the educational work visible as a distinct public biography rather than treating every Al Thani family member as a holder of the same state office.
