Family and education

Mansour was born in Abu Dhabi in 1970, a son of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Fatima bint Mubarak. He is a brother of UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed. His upbringing preceded the federation’s establishment in 1971. Official biographical material records further study in the United States and a bachelor’s degree in international relations in 1993.

Work in the presidential administration

He became chairman of Zayed’s office in 1997. Following Zayed’s death in 2004, Mansour became minister of presidential affairs under the reorganized presidential administration. The sequence is important: service in a president’s office and membership of a ruling family are related aspects of the biography, but the administrative responsibilities arise from appointments to identifiable public posts.

Deputy prime minister and court responsibilities

Mansour was appointed deputy prime minister in 2009. His presidential-court responsibilities continued under later organizational changes. The UAE government’s leadership record identifies the current offices used in this profile. A biography spanning several administrations must distinguish older ministry names from current titles rather than treating every historical description as a separate simultaneous job.

The vice presidency

On 29 March 2023 Mansour became a UAE vice president. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also holds a vice presidency and is prime minister. The existence of more than one vice president makes it especially important to list roles precisely. Mansour’s appointment did not make him the Ruler of Dubai, nor did it replace Mohamed bin Zayed as president.

Football and investment visibility

Outside formal government coverage, Mansour is widely associated with the investment that brought Abu Dhabi ownership to Manchester City in 2008 and the subsequent City Football Group structure. Club operations, corporate ownership and sovereign institutions are different subjects. The profile records this public association without estimating private wealth or implying that football assets are identical to the assets of the UAE state.

Connections across the ruling families

His marriage to Manal bint Mohammed Al Maktoum connects the Al Nahyan and Al Maktoum families. Such links help explain why family biographies cross emirate boundaries, but marriage does not merge their public offices. His own entry therefore remains under Al Nahyan and Abu Dhabi, with federal responsibilities stated separately and related profiles available through the family page.
