Early career

Leonardo DiCaprio began with television appearances before moving into major dramatic films. This Boy’s Life and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, both released in 1993, established his ability to carry emotionally demanding material. Romeo + Juliet and Titanic subsequently brought him to an international audience.

A career in collaboration

His work with Martin Scorsese includes Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed and The Wolf of Wall Street. Other films, including Inception and Django Unchained, show a career that moves between large-scale entertainment and distinctive directorial visions. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Revenant at the 2016 ceremony.

Beyond the performance

DiCaprio has also worked as a producer through Appian Way. His public environmental advocacy and documentary projects form another part of his professional record. This biography focuses on established career milestones rather than private life.
